Live from Nickerson Gardens, Watts we present the Brick Boys. We went out to the hood and shot a bunch of plates and narrative elements that occur on any given day in Nickerson Gardens. This is our first video we shot with no crew and actually DP’d and operated the cameras ourselves.

We also shot at a Malibu mansion and various greenscreen shoots and other Watts locations. Music produced by Ervin EP Pope, this track is a preview off their debut album. Directed by Secret History. Produced by Buildestroy and EP. ©2009 The Furnace Music Group

The lovely ladies known as Mary Mary but that we know as Tina and Erica will on 106 & Park today to introduce the new video that we Directed for them. It happens to be for one of the favorite songs off of their newest album “The Sound” and was produced by our good friend Warryn Campbell. Gospel never sounded this dope before and we’re honored to have worked with everyone and glad people are feeling it.

Mary Mary “God in Me”

Music video for two-time Grammy winning Gospel group Mary Mary. This one is our first entirely live action video with no real FX and the graphics were incorporated into the shoot practically on the LCDs.

We focused on the girls looking beautiful and creating a really fun and spirited fashion show. Big up to Warryn Campbell and My Block Records and all the celebs that came through for us: Kanye and Amber Rose, Bentley and Fawn, Heavy D, Common, David Banner, Joi Starr and Mars, Kelly Price, Flex and Shanice, DJ Reflex, Luscious Liz, Isreal Houghton, and our top Models.

Ameish “Save Ourselves”

Secret History directs this narrative based epic video for unsigned artist Ameish. Set in a typical shallow LA gallery environment Ameish leads us into 3 very different but similar realities through a photography exhibition that comes to life.

A very different approach from our past music videos we took a very realistic approach to the FX that creates a very dramatic mood for the gritty vignettes revealed by Ameish’s lyrics. Shot entirely on 35mm and 16mm film we gave this one a very cinematic feel.

Paris “Don’t Stop the Movement”

Another greenscreen burner for Paris. This one takes place in a virtual Bay Area as Paris leads the revolution. Paris takes hypocritical rappers, police, politicians, news networks and anyone in his way to court in this one.

A call to action that was released in 2008 before the elections. It went on MTV Jams on election day. Follow P-Dog as he leads his hard truth mob all the way to the doors of the White House.

ARTSY Nominated for MVPA award 2008

The Grouch Artsy video was nominated for Best Hip Hop video at the 2008 MVPA awards.
We were the only “unsigned” Directors and Grouch was the only independent artist. We
were up against Snoop Dogg, Common, and Aesop Rock. This organization was the official
industry group that dealt with Music Videos. Due to the state of the music industry they
have breathed their final breath and this years awards were 3 months late and sorry as
hell. At least we got a nomination in when they were still kicking.

ARTSY Featured on front page of Youtube and Myspace

Yes it’s finally happened to us, we have a viral hit on our hands with The Grouch’s “Artsy” video. Youtube graciously blessed us with a frontpage position raising our hits from 50,000 to 300,000 in 2 glorious days. Myspace also did a feature on the video and MTV has asked for it also. We are also now selling it on Itunes for $1.99 so it’s been a big month for Secret History and The Grouch. It’s great when something you work long hours and put a lot of love into really pays off and gets recognized and seen.

The music video that put Secret History on the map in 2007. Greenscreen madness that was treated in the most artsy of ways.

We brought to life Grouch’s hilarious lyrics while creating a parody of pop culture commercials and videos. Nothing is safe as Grouch tells you why you ‘aint artsier than him. Put on the front page of Youtube, Myspace, and countless blogs. MTV actually added it without payola just out of love for the track and video, imagine that. Also featured as a must see download in many magazines including SPIN.
